At Pens Up, we believe that in person learning opportunities are equally important — if not more — to fundraising. We offer two free weekly literacy sessions, one for reading and one for writing, with a Pens Up volunteer. Email cliao@gcschool.org to join the session!!
Details
In our Reading Workshop, we do read-alouds followed by a discussion about the text. This helps children practice reading while speaking, while also gaining confidence in their primary thoughts and ideas about a text.
In our Writing Workshop, we help children create a portfolio of poetry and short-form stories. We are also here to help with any writing homework or questions!
Location
We would love to host our sessions in-person. If convenient we would ideally meet at the New York Public Library. If a student can’t make the journey, then we can meet them online!
